Floor Curling

Floor curling is a simplified version of the sport of curling. Unlike curling which is played on ice, floor curling is played on a flat and smooth floor surface. With its rules similar to curling, it is especially good for training etiquette, intellectual tactics, team cooperation and sportsmanship.

Who can Play?

Floor Curling is a fun and challenging game combining physical and mental skill. It is one of the few sports where all ages, genders, and abilities can play together and against each other.

How to Play?
Two teams take turns to deliver rocks attempting to get closer to the center of the target or ‘house,' than their opponents. Each team consists of three players called the lead, second and skip, who each deliver two stones in that order. The skips are the team captains and direct their team on which shots to play.

When all twelve rocks have been played, an ‘end’ of floor curling is complete. A team scores one point for each rock which is closer to the center of the house than any of the opposition’s rocks. Only rocks touching the house can be counted.

The team that scores in the previous end plays first in the next end. This means that the non-scoring team gets the advantage of having the last stone. The winner is the team with the most points at the end of the game.
